How to get to Siena

Siena can be reached from the airports of Florence, Pisa and Rome.

Florence Airport is around two hours away by bus (one hour by car), Pisa Airport is around two hours away by train (one hour and a half by car), Rome Fiumicino Airport is around three hours and a half away by train first and bus later (three hours by car).

Pisa Airport probably offers the simplest connection because the terminal has its own train stop. If you plan to rent a car, Florence Airport should be your first choice.

The Conference will be held at the Certosa di Pontignano, an old monastery in the hills surrounding Siena which is connected to the city center by bus in 25 minutes.

Buses both from Pisa Airport and Florence Railway Station are to consider especially because both buses bring you to Piazza Gramsci where the bus from Siena to Pontignano departs.
